I'm a bit upset with my sister-in-law from over the weekend. My kids spend the night over at my parents' house. Both my brother, his wife and their son live in my parent's basement. My daughter had a picture of her take on her iPod of her holding my nephew's new puppy (sister-in-law got the puppy without my parents permission). My sister-in-law took the picture for her on my daughters ipod. Then for some reason she felt she need to go through my daughters ipod to try to get the picture sent to herself. When my dauhgter asked her why? She said because she took the picture it makes it hers. I told my daughter when she told me what happened that next time, she needs to go to her grammy (my mom) to tell her she is going through her iPod and doesn't have permission to. That is my daughter, and I don't care who took the picture, when it's on her iPod that makes the pictures to do as she wishes which isn't much. Of course, my sister-in-law couldn't get the picture sent to her because her iPod doesn't have the ability when she isn't the parent doesn't have access to my daughter's kids' messenger to the photo is just sitting in her photo app on her iPod. Now I have to have a conversation with my sister-in-law about property that isn't hers and going through other people's kid's belongings.

That will be a tough conversation. But, I agree it does need to be discussed. Boundaries. There has to be boundaries. It might have been different if the sister-in-law had asked your daughter for permission to try to send the photo. But to do something without bothering to ask is just plain bad manners.

It won't' be tough conversation. Even if she asked my daughter permission that still doesn't make it alright for her to try to take my daughters stuff to get a hold of the picture. She isn't the parent and the person she needs to ask is my daughter's parents me and her dad because she is 12 and her iPod is under my name, my account and stuff.
