Did you know that Bruce Willis retired from acting?

I just read now that Bruce Willis had untreatable dementia. I really enjoyed his acting. I read yesterday that he continued to act to pay for all the bills that would be coming up. I understand why he has retired from acting and how hard it must be for him and his family. He has young children now and a younger wife. I hope that he can live a life where he remembers his family for a long time. I just wanted to share that with you.

He retired a long time ago and even wrote his will. Until yesterday the doctors did nor know the illness he had but still the prognosis was very bad.

@marguicha I thought he retired close to a year ago. Thank you for sharing what you wrote and you are right about his illness. I find it to be very sad because I like him very much.

You would hope that a actor of his calibre would have enough money for his needs but perhaps that's not the case.

@Hannihar Some of them possibly don't save their money for a rainy day.

@Hannihar I would have never thought he has money issues. But perhaps celebrities have a lot in investments and not as much in their savings.

@JudyEv It sounded like he really had to continue to act because he needed the money. You are right you would think he would have enough money but it sounds like he did not.

He had memory problems from quite a while, this is the reason why he had to stop acting.

@Hannihar I know because as soon as my husband read about him started to worry to have the same problem. This is not the case, but it is true that my husband is also becoming forgetful.

@Tampa_girl7 It is a shame that he got something that was untreatable at a fairly young age and still could make more movies but because of it his life got shortened.

He's had a long fruitful career, he likely has more money and investments than he'll ever need to use.

@Hannihar That doesn't sound like it would be the case for a well known and well paid movie star. He had a movie career for many years. I haven't looked for any information, It just seems he would have been well fixed for life.

@CarolDM I believe when people have lost someone a lot forget about what the family must be going through. I believe family is important if they care about the one that is very sick or gone from them.

@Hannihar I don't know much about this illness as well, but as far as I know, those who suffer from dementia are usually fatal at the end. I never heard someone has cured from dementia yet.

I heard about this and I am sorry for him, When things like this happen it seems to always be harder on creative people because the illness might curb their creativity, I wish all the best for him and hope his signs won't be too severe too soon,
