Have Gone From Angry To Could Give Rats A** Anymore

I have been using the same bank for about 30+ years. I have had no issues with hackers of any kind on my account. About 2 years ago I put my daughter on an account with mine when I became her payee. She immediately started having issues with a hacker trying to get $37.95 from her account. It happened twice in 2021, 5 times in 2022, and, 3 times in 2023 so far. When I finally started taking it a bit more seriously I listened for the name of the place that this unauthorized charge was coming from when the bank rep ask about it. It is called "Mon Fun Source". I checked online and it is out of Minnesota and is a membership store where you buy things like gaming cards and can rent party stuff. I let the bank know what I had found(So easy why didn't they do just what I did?) The representative checked and said that the bank rep was just putting that my daughter's card was lost or stolen and issuing her a new card. This last time they actually put a notification on it. The bank rep noted all I had found AGAIN this last time. It is costing the bank money to keep sending my daughter a new debit card EACH month. All the rep does is note what I said and issue me a new card. And, the rep tells me not to call or make contact with this company. Let the fraud department take care of it. Okay. When? I thought it over. Called the Fraud Dept. again to see what I can expect from the bank and what I may need to do on my own. As usual, the rep was helpful but just passed the buck on to someone else who is going to call me back this week sometime. Ya right. So I have to wait to even get that question answered. I went online and did a deeper search. I am finding that this place started out as a 'first source' out of (you guessed it) Mumbai, Maharashtra. Inda. Even got the names of key people such as the Executive Chairman=Sanjiv Goenka and CEO=Vipul Khanna. It was founded in 2001. So, yeah I'll just run right out to Mumbai and get this taken care of. Ho-Hum

I'd just tell them I'm changing banks and the problem will be taken care of since they aren't doing anything about the fraud. I changed banks ten or fifteen years ago because the bank wouldn't stop someone from accessing my money... That fixed their problem.

@celticeagle There has to be a reason your daughter was targeted. Did you ask her what she's been trying to buy?

Isn't there a way for a bank to block anyone debitimg money from your account. If that's the right way to do it.

They can, yes, but, that does not stop them.

Something like that would really make me angry. I hope it gets figured out.

I really don't like when department transfer the lines again and again to other department and ended up not being answered.

I would change banks. I've never had that problem with the bank we use. Good luck.
