This little piggy . . .

Okay, conversation from local Facebook. Yes, this took place IN TOWN here. First post: "If anyone sees my pig, she got out this afternoon." Second post immediately under it:" If anyone lost a pig she is at 3rd and Downs (not real street, for privacy sake.)" Original poster: "I am so sorry for the disturbance I will be right down to get her. I will check the fence to see where she got out." There are pictures, and running comments, like "She came through our yard, too. It was pretty entertaining." What I liked was this was all good spirited. People posted gifs and emojis and chatted among themselves. No where did I see people griping and mad. Folks, this is not one of those cute little pot bellied pig. This is a real porker. I guess it was good to take our mind off the impending bad weather coming our way. After all, we do not want Petunia to become a pigsicle.

Yes, even for me. I knew this person had chickens here in town, it seems like every fifth or sixth household does. I did not realize she had a pig.

@DaddyEvil We also get surprised when stray cows or calves take off down the highway.

Sometimes people do say rude things about when peoples dogs run off but for the most part people are nice about when animals get loose and people pitch in to try and get them reunited with their owners. I’m glad porky the pig had so many people looking out for him.

We do gripe about stray dogs, but mostly posts about them are more to the tune of "If this is your dog, it is in the trash. Come get it before it gets hurt."

People are weird. If I lose Luna, I would like to know if someone has seen her, not a sort of social exchange.

@marguicha Yep, but as far as I can tell he does not do much.

She wanted to know, and what I wonder is where her no good husband is and why he is not out looking for Petunia.

Yes, they did. It is not unusual to have posts out about cattle on the highway. This was even better since it was in town.

"After all, we do not want Petunia to become a pigsicle." Well, I guess not. I take it she found her way home again.

She was located and her owner, the original poster, went out to get her.

It's nice to see she gave everyone something different to talk about and she got an adventure to boot. The really good thing is she did not get hit by a car or chased and eaten by stray dogs. We have some over here and their is no place for small animals to be safe. The pound won't pick them up because we are just on the outside of town. But, glad to here everyone had a good time with "Petunia's great Adventure's" future kids book coming soon near you... LOL

We have foxes and coyotes. She seems to be pretty big, though. Also we do have occasional stray dogs. People always posting about them getting out.

Well, if it was not a little piggy, I wonder from where the pig escaped, surely not a small hole.

I like pigs. If you raise a pig well and are gentle with the animal, it will be okay to be around.
