I´m still at Dixie´s but both patients are much better. After following my symptoms for a couple of days, Humberto and I dedided that this is a specially harsh episode of what I have had all my life: irritable bowel syndrome. So he will go to the drugstore to buy the adequate med and I´ll have a colonoscopy as soon as possible. But today Dixie let me eat avocado and I stole a vey thing piece of ham for breakfast. I´m on soda creackers though because Dixie says that bread ferments in the stomach. So be it. My brekfast was a lot better than what I had planned. My lower tummy still hurts but I´m much happer here. And so is Carolina, Humberto´s niece and the other patient at this "hospital". I´ll see you later.

Sorry to know that you have irritable bowel syndrome. My late mom had this illness. It was very annoying. As @LadyDuck suggested, always grill or toast your bread before eating.

I am taking care of it and the most important thing is to relax. I feel better by just being at Dixie´s.

Even stale bread is better than fresh bread when you have this problem.

I have had this since I was a child. This one was a specially painful one and I did not know what it was. Now that I know what it is, I know that it is a matter of time, a pill and diet. PLUS being relaxed as I am here instead of being alone at my home.

@Tina30219 I think that I freaked out now remembering last year´s noroviris and the week at the hospital.

@marguicha It must get worse the older you get if you have had it for a while. But like you said with a change of diet and less stress and a pill it will get better for you.

I did not know you also suffer of irritable bowel syndrome, I have the same problem, it can be very painful. I always grill the bread before eating, it is a lot more digestible. Take care and rest.

I have had that since I was a child. This episode was specially painful and I was terrified to be alone so I called Dixie to have me. I´m dieting but I know that the most important thing is to relax. Being here can be better than many pills.

@LadyDuck This one was at night too. And as you surely know, as soon as I discovered exactly that it was IBS, it started to hurt less.

I'm so glad you're feeling a little better. I have IBS and it's like having a very spoiled brat living in your stomach. Keep resting and pamper your stomach.

@marguicha You probably know all this, but try not to eat veggies or fruit that are raw. Bland foods like plain rice, white bread, anything that won't make the little brat upset will help.

@DianneN I know the meds and have them at home. But this last time I was so terrified by the pain that I did not think it was IBS. Last year I was one week at the hospital with norovirus that that started from one second to the other. After that I am more afraid to any thing that has to do with my belly. And when I came here I was in such distress that Humberto got up from his nap, examined me and took me to his office for an echotomography. After that we knew that at least I did not have a tumor. And as time went by, I more and more recognized my old enemy (IBS). And that hurts once in a while but does not kill. Still I will have a colonoscopy ASAP.

@marguicha I had a grad student with that. She suffered a lot and was often late to class due to looking for restrooms. I last saw her when hubs and I went out to dinner, but she said she is on medication that has helped her immensely. Just feel better soon and listen to the doctor.
