George Is Happy Now

Hubby moved a bale of hay for me and I threw some of it to George. We have been talking about trying to get him a new home. Someplace where he would have other horses for company. I feel bad for him during the winter especially as I don't spend much time with him. I think I also have my bill from the emergency room taken care of now. Hopefully it will be fully covered. I did that while I was waiting for pages to load here. I hope I remember to copy this before I try to post it in case. As it is a rainy morning already I will be messing around inside. Right now we are watching Schitts Creek. It is funny. Hope you have a good day

Emergency room? I must have missed something! That might be rough for a horse in the winter, I think when I was growing up my uncle and aunt always just had one horse. But they also had cows I think.

It was last fall. Still getting new bills from it. He's the only one we have so he has no company many days

@wolfgirl569 Oh wow, that's a while to still be getting bills from it. That's understandable, that would be rough

@wolfgirl569 - This is true, he had company in the past, also animals feel alone.

I’m sorry that you may be parting ways with George because we’ll miss him, but I certainly understand your reasoning.

It would be sad if you had to find a new home for George but if you do I hope he has lots of other horses to keep him company.

Oh, I'm sorry you'll be giving up George. I'm glad you have the emergency room bill taken care of. I didn't know you went to the emergency room. I hope you're okay. It's a good day to stay inside when it's raining.

I think he would be happier. He was never alone until last winter when our last mare passed away. I went last fall. But just got this bill. My blood pressure was just up. It came down while we were there. So I should have just laid down for a little bit and waited

Medical bills are just never ending. You think you have them all taken care of and they send you another one! There have been posts online in animal rescue groups and even a few individuals, that are actually giving their horse away in my area. They are just hard pressed to feed their families, I guess, and can't feed a horse right now. George would probably benefit from a buddy to hang with, I do know it's hard to part with an animal we care about. No doubt you will do the best you can for George.

I just got this bill from last fall. Horses are selling pretty good here right now. To the right home I probably would give him with a contract that he comes back to me if they need to get rid of him. As an only horse he would still be happier if he was being used. I don't ride anymore either.

@MarieCoyle I don't hurt from riding. Just no good place to do it without hauling them somewhere. That takes some of the fun out of it

@wolfgirl569 That's a good idea about a return if necessary contract. Rescues do that, too. I used to love to go horseback riding. It just makes me hurt now. Ugh.

It looks sunny out here but is chilly. The baby and I have to do a few things in town today and I’m in a mood. Sometimes rehoming animals can be a kind thing to do. I did that with my parrot I just didn’t have much time for him. I’m about to call it quits with this kitten too he won’t stop pouncing on the baby and clawing her. I got all fresh nail tips on except one that his nail was messed up so I couldn’t. She was crawling along the floor minding her own business and he jumped on her grabbed her head in his paws and bit her. Got a big scratch across her cheek. I can only imagine if the cat had more than one nail how bad it could have been.

@wolfgirl569 he definitely is rambunctious and ornery . This is the fourth cat I’ve had in my life and I was not expecting this at all. The others were so sweet.

It warmed some here. Kittens can be very ornery. It may be better for kitten and baby. You could maybe give a more mature cat a needed home. It just sounds like you have a very playful one

I have always been one to want two of any animal I may get. I think all creatures need a pal of their own kind to hang out with. Hope you are able to find a happy home for George. So good to have a med bill covered. Yah!

I was hoping you'd find George a goat friend.... You're selling my buddy? Poor George. I don't know how long the rain lasted after I went to sleep at 8 am but it was a full night here. Storms and high winds with tornado sirens going off several times. When I kept losing connection to myLot this morning, I finally gave up and went to sleep. (It's 65F and sunny at 3 pm.) Hope you stay safe and enjoy your day.

But I didn't want to take care of the goats. We had a tornado watch but never heard anything worse. Just rain for the most part of the day
