I am an aspiring fashion designer and I am looking for a software that allows me to make my design. I also wanted to know where do find those maniquins that the designers uses.

You can find manniquines at your local sewing shop, but they are very expensive. I found ours at a second hand shop so I was really happy about that. The software we have is basicly software with some basic patterns, you put in your dimensions and it prints the design for you. 1) there are no really interesting designs in there I can't find in Burda, butterick or something like that 2) it works like cr*p because you print like 16 pages of A4 and need to tape everything together to get your pattern ready I haven't found any other good software so far... I know there are machines that have a computer and software build into them, but they are very expensive. Good luck in finding such software, if you do find out, would you be so kind as to let me know? I will let you know if I found out something in the mean time, too :)

I actaully did find a designing software that is really good. It's called Virtual Fashion Works( VF Works) and it's like a 3D simulator where you can design any type of outfit you want. You can download a demo version( a total of 10 hrs of usage and 5 pictures), and they also let you share your designs with other people. It costs about $100( expensive), but the only reasons I haven't bought it is because I'm broke and you have to pay online. Even though it's a legit company, I still don't feel right about paying anything online. Here's the site: http://virtual-fashion.com/html/en/

You can probably find computer software for that at CompUSA or Bestbuy. They have software for a variety of different areas and may have something you are looking for or maybe you can do a search on the net for it.
