Is it worth it?

The internet is a vital tool in today's world. Social media too plays a key role from helping us connect with loved ones, friends , workmates . I have noticed that some people even the slightest detail of their lives they post on social media. I saw a friend of mine whom we went to the same secondary school. When she had her first baby, the very day she posted her on Facebook . I was shocked, it's joyous yes but some things are not worth it. I don't judge or have anything against posting on social media but in some cases, people go to the extreme. What's your take on this.

It gets boring and also gives way for attackers like child traffickers and kidnappers to get your child(Ren) easily

When I started being active on social media, I was only a watcher, I rarely posted something. Then, because of my job I started developing an extrovert trait, and I started posting a lot and sharing a lot of posts. But now, I try to get back to how I started, I only post things that are beneficial to my job and are relevant to the town I live in.

@Laurakemunto Probably the coronavirus pandemic has contributed to this madness. People were isolated for a long period of time and social media gave them an opportunity to express themselves which developed into a habit which got even worse now.

Well, there are things that sometimes I'm overjoyed with and simply wanted to share it with my friends. I do edit the sharing with my friends and not to the public though, you can do that on FB You can even create a group of people with whom you can share your pics or news about. No one outside of the group could see them, so it was safe. But on public places, I use a pen name or alias and I keep mum about my private affairs.

The ones that bother me are the ones that post their food daily and all of their break ups and make ups

Many people post clips of their lives online, and some even have teams and scripts. They use content to attract fans, and then open online stores on their accounts to sell products

That's agreeable and reasonable but some just do it for the sake of being at par with other people

@Laurakemunto Some content that is unattractive and meaningless is indeed not worth watching

I think too many folks enjoy oversharing, just for the thrill of getting a few likes and comments. I personally find it sad.
