Currently life is more expensive worldwide. You can't survive bellow two dollars a day. Housing has become more expensive that finding a house to rent is another job. If you're looking for a better house to rent around town then you'll dig deep into your pocket Most of people who can't afford that are going for one bedroom house with the family. How many people can one bedroom house accommodate..?

It depends on the size of the bedroom, but you can fit 7-10 people in there who could live at least with some comfort. If the bedroom is just used for sleeping then, you can double the capacity.

@Maxveg One would have to get used to having a lot of others around.

Things are sky high. Two dollars a day is a minimum daily wage in Kenya. Depending on the size of the house. Room dividers can make more than one room.

Two dollars a day would not go very far here in California.

That's the lowest budget for family of two and it's only one meal.

Have you seen a family of like six kids living in a single roomed house?
