Coming out of a two year battle with cancer

I rarely do what everyone else is doing, and the Covid Pandemic is one I certainly didn't do. I got all the shots, but never got Covid. I did, however, get a diagnosis of a teeny weenie little "size of a grain of rice" cancer tumor in November of 2020, so my doc said, get it taken care of. Well... size doesn't matter if REALLY BAD STUFF does. Most people go through 8-12 weeks of chemotherapy. I had a year, and I had 3 weeks of radiation. It is now 2023, and I am still dealing with the after affects of the chemo, but my hair grew back, now it is long and curly. I tint it purple, and enjoy the look. My memory is terrible, but it is improving, but I must make notes about everything. Everyone my age forgets why they go from one room to another, but I forget much more than that. My mind goes blank many times a day. I must keep a calendar very clearly with me or I won't remember what I am to do all the time. Everyone assures me that it does go away, but at my age, maybe it won't.????????????

Glad they caught it Anne then. Yes I remember when my Mama had that chemo effects. I am glad it is clearing for you as time goes on. But I do not blame you for thinking it may not.

I think my rapidly silver greying hair should have a pink tint to it. What do you think? Glad to hear of your improvements. It has not been my experience that memory 'gets better' but hey, you deserve it.

Sally's sells a group of temporary color that is like icing. You put it on dry hair, let it sit for 15 minutes, then rinse it off. It gradually wears off, then do it again. I get a lot of nice comments even from total strangers, men even! At 78, that is fun!!!

It's getting a lot better I think. You remember my name almost all the time.

I'm sure this has been incredibly stressful for you and I hope over time your memory improves. We keep a calendar with us too but fortunately our memories are quite as bad as yours. Wishing you all the best. Touch wood, we haven't had covid either.
