My Dad's birthday....

Today is my Dad's birthday. We had a very nice night tonight celebrating it.
My Dad, brother and I went to my Nan's house to have pizza for dinner and cake.
I got a cake made for my Dad. A Space Cake (not THAT sort of cake lol). A Space themed cake I should say. I originally wanted a cake with a NASA's Apollo rocket on it but it just wasn't doable for a small cake. So I suggested something more simple like a black cake with a moon and stars on it.
But the baker went above and beyond by adding all the planets on the cake too. So I am going to ring her tomorrow to thank her for that.
My Nan gave my dad a nice card with money in it. My brother got him a "Floating Shuttle" which my Dad can build himself. I got him a hoodie, Toblerone, a foam plane glider (we already tested it in the hallway lol, need bigger area to make to fly better), and this little astronaut looking projector that you can shine onto your wall or roof which projects stars and different coloured nebula's. (I will try get a photo of that later on too). And my brother and I got a USB stick to put all the seasons of The Drew Carey Show on it.
Right now my Dad is on his bed asleep with the astronaut projector on the roof. 
It looks really pretty. He was very thankful for everything.

Sounds like your dad had a very nice birthday. The cake turned out beautiful, and the gifts all seem pretty cool. Stuff I would like as well. You did a great job!

@moffittjc aw thank you very kindly! My Dad has always loved Space and anything to do with NASA. I'd say it's because of him that I share that same interest. He still remembers running out of class at school when he was little, to run home to watch the moon landing.

@VivaLaDani13 I would think the moon landing would have been an excusable absence from school. When I was in high school, whenever NASA would launch the space shuttle we would stop what we were doing at school and go outside and watch the launches (we were close enough to the launch pad that we could see the launch without having to watch it on tv). In fact, I was outside watching the Challenger launch in 1986 when it exploded after takeoff. We all knew something was wrong and everyone ran back inside to their classrooms to turn on the tv's (all the classrooms had tv's built into the walls) to watch the news of what had happened. All classes were cancelled for the remainder of that day, but everyone stayed in their seats in the classrooms and continued watching the news coverage for the entire rest of the afternoon.
