A stranger question indeed .... Batters are quite simply the bits of batter that fall off the fish when you buy a fish from the fish and chip shop. They are actually known by lots of different names .... batters batter bits scraps and I am sure that around the country they are known by other things too .... We went to a great fish and chip shop local to us a few years ago and I had to tell them about drizzling the batter into the hot oil to make batters ....they were a great success and we always got an extra big portion of them whenever we went in. Sometimes you can get battered chips too ....lovely. What do you call batters ? Is it something your fish and chip can do ?

I donĀ“t buy fish there. But Leticia was quite a champion with the delicious crunchy batter on the fried fish.
