Disaster in the kitchen

It was early in the morning. The water connection in the kitchen started to leak even with the tap was closed. The kitchen floor was flooded with water. Had to close the main connection and that meant no water everywhere. The plumber just picked up the phone after calling him umpteen number of times - says he has a bad stomach and so kept his phone in a silent mode. Before closing the main however collected some water for emergencies at the cost of more floodding the kitchen The plumber's team has arrived and they are busy with fixing it. What a day I say

Really a bad way to start the day. Hope the plumber team do the needful and whether you have saved enough water for normal things if required

It's so stressful when things like this happen. All of a sudden we have to call a plumber ready to fix it especially since the mess came from the kitchen which we use a lot.

Oh that's awful. It's amazing how much mess even a little extra water can make, let alone a lot of water.

They only had to remove one granite slab from where the connection was and they have now fixed everything. They had to change the tap as well.. Did cost something but not much.

It's all done now. Thank you. That is the advantage of living in small towns where we get fast service. We have had this guy for years. I did get worried when he was not picking up the phone in the wee hours of the morning as he later said he had kept his phone in silent mode as he had issues with his stomach and did not want to be disturbed.

@allknowing - The same reason I wanted to move to a very small town. We know each other here and I have great people I can call if we have a problem.

That was a true disaster. We get good service here and the first thing we did was to store some water and turn off the main until they turned up.

Some things are the same world over. Those things are plumbing problems and hard to reach plumbers. May I add they are also expensive. I have some plumbing issues going on myself.

Our plumbing system here is not perfect either but so far, we only have the shower tap dripping every now and then (very annoying noise!). We have tried to fix that tap so often and nothing seems to work so far.

In our case the connection got snapped and water just gushed filling the kitchen. We immediately stopped the main connection. The work is over and everything is back to normal
