Not clouds but foam

This image that you see is of foam generated by chemicals loaded in a lake in Bengaluru not so long ago. A city that was first named as paradise for the retired now it stinks with lakes contaminated, traffic jams and what have you. I visited Bengaluru a few years ago and then it did look like a city for the retired who loved to see avenues of flowering trees and clear clean lakes. But now because of its name for IT progress youngsters flock there and have made that their home. Would you prefer a quiet place or a place that is known for its job opportunities?

Currently I prefer a place with job opportunities and maybe in future I would love to settle in a quiet place as I age gracefully

There is no reason why a city can have both

@allknowing yes but cities due to many opportunities have crowded living conditions meaning pollution is inevitable of any kind

That's sad. Now, that I'm retired, I prefer a quiet place where I can quietly watch the sunset and the sunrise, where I can walk peacefully under the trees and enjoy nature, and where I can breathe fresh air freely.

With proper planning one can have all that and job opportunities for the youngsters specially when retired couples have their kids wanting to work in the same city

Why can't they make the place both for workers and retired people?

@allknowing Hmmm..maybe because if there are workers there. Then it will be a lot of people which comes and goes

Retired people would like a quiet place but when it comes to children they have to choose places where there are more job opportunities.

@allknowing I know that, not only children all of us need a clean environment. Children leave us for good jobs in metropolitan cities. One of my sons stays in Kolkata and one in Copenhagen. Kolkata is a dirty city and makes people sick. Small quiet cities don't have good job opportunities.

This image got so viral few years back..I came to the city in 2000 and then we left it in few months to come back in 2014. Bengaluru had deteriorated so much in that time. The city of flowers and lakes is no more even close to it. Garden city has become concrete jungle and garbage city

We visited Bengaluru years ago for a brief holiday and stayed in a bungalow where they were accepting guests like us We had such a lovely time and yes it was truly known as the garden city then.

Since I am older, I prefer my quiet place. Lack of opportunity bothered me when we moved here, but I certainly have what I need.

Now that I am retired I do not care of a place known for its job opportunities. I want a quiet, clean, non polluted place where to spend the rest of my life.

We shifted from a polluted city to this semi rural town years ago but looking at Bengaluru it was known to be the paradise for the retired but there is something about that place and seniors rush there to retire even now .

@allknowing The places are changing. There is a place in Italy called "Cinque Terre" that was a Paradise until a couple of years ago, then tourists discovered the place. Now the authorities are thinking to close the roads not to let the cars in.

So sad that they would pollute such a lovely place, I would love a very quiet place, I have that now my apartment is very quiet and some days it seems there is no one around but I know my friend and her family live below me,

The online activity is more than enough I think to keep you in touch with the world. The place where I live is quiet too and what is around me that is my garden keeps me on my toes.

With my health problems I think a quiet place would be better for me. Although, I completely understand the allure of a hustling and bustling city full of possibilities.

How sad about the contamination. I for one prefer peace and quiet so I can listen to the birds and other creatures but then I am retired so jobs are not important to me anymore.

As a retired person I’d choose a quiet place but if I needed a job I’d go to a place with work opportunities
