How do you deal with long threads on MyLot?

Sometimes conversations go on and on on MyLot. To me, those are the most fun. Sometimes a bit of humor is involved.
But sometimes threads get so long that I can't tell what someone is responding to. For example, if someone says "I disagree, you idiot," I have to respond "Disagree with what, you ninny?"
Influenced by Greg from Iowa, I have started copying and pasting what the other person has said with my response. For example, if @Vandana7 says "Your choice of slides for that music video was brilliant," I can respond "Which video?" and copy and paste her statement in quotation marks below it.
Do you ever get confused with long MyLot threads? How do you deal with it?
Note: photo is random and unrelated to the discussion. I just liked the colors.

Long posts can be fun but yes sometimes one can get lost in the labyrinth of responses and comments.
So one way is to copy paste part of another person's comment and then respond on it.
The Guitar looks to be of a good quality.

I only have a problem when there are several of us talking on the same thread. And usually, not even then. I enjoy the long threads but stop talking on them when people stop talking to me. Thereafter, I ignore the thread.

No problem with me. I read the conversation again

Depends on why it's gotten so long. If it's veered off on a tangent and becomes a conversation between two people other than the op and me, I tend to lose interest.

@TheHorse Yeah, but sometimes it just keeps bouncing between two, neither of whom is the op.

I find Greg's way of doing things to be barbaric and inferior. He puts the quotation before the response, making it difficult to tell who has written what. As MyLot's Stable Genius, I do the exact opposite. Of course I have both patented and copyrighted my method.
"Greg's way of doing things is brilliant."

The long threads are the most fun here. They get very funny and I have a good time with them even if I lose track of what is happening. The way the answers to questions are grouped is confusing.
I love the discussions that make me laugh. I remember passages of discussions and answers from past myLot entries and loved them even more.

I try to do what Jim Bauer does. I post a small bit from someone's response in italics and underneath that I write my response.

@lovebuglena Thanks. I will have to try it. But am I smart enough? And are my eyes good enough?

I always try to answer most responses but if it is a response which I can just appreciate I just give a like.

Quite often, people respond late...check the old posts, (even I do at times), then it becomes difficult to attend to current notifications and previous ones too...I do feel I have missed out on replying to some...but that is because of time gap.

@TheHorse if a response needs a comment a surely comment though they are a bulk of it.

It is mostly annoying when mylot starts duplicating responses but it happens. That or when someone is talking to someone else but accidentally tags you like hey what did I do?

I like the colors too. I do not often find really long threads. Perhaps I do not look enough. When It is a mixed thread I try to tag the person I am responding to.

It happens to me all the time, and it’s worse when you have multiple myLot members all chiming in on the same thread. And sometimes I have to go back and read dozens or more comments to remind myself of what the conversation is even about.

Yes, some threads go on forever. A couple of people copy and paste previous comments; but I just try and go back to match up the response with the last comment or question.

I always enjoy long threads because it is interesting to see where a discussion will lead to. We often end up talking about something completely different to the subject of the original discussion.
