Its summer time now and I ensure I have salads daily. It helps cool the system. I try eating more of cucumber or watermelon because it has high water content. Do you have salads daily and what is your favourite? Pic is mine created by me on Canva

I don't like salads. When I was growing up salads were called "rabbit food" and very few people ate them. I do eat a lot of fruit during the Summer and will pick and eat spinach leaves as it grows on the front porch. I also like picking and eating tomatoes right off the vine. I also like raw bell peppers right off the plant.

As a kid I did not like salads. I started enjoying salads a few years back and now in summer ensure I have it regularly. Have never had a change of eating tomatoes right off the vine.

@mayka123 Tomatoes are the best when they're still hot from the sun. YUM! I grew up on a farm and we grew all our own veggies. I don't have room for a big garden but I still enjoy growing some things myself.

@mayka123 My favorite is the potato salad. It is mixed with diced carrots, diced cheese, and pineapple chunks then add mayo with squeezed lemon. I make simple salads, not gourmet. I love Waldorf Salad simply made with diced apples, raisins, nuts (any kind), and lettuce added with mayo and pepper. I love all sorts of salads. I usually experiment them or watch them on youtube.

@jeanbug23 I am not too fond of carrots and very rarely buy them. Have not tried salad with apples and raisins and nuts. Should try it out.

I also like honeydew melon during the summer weather. They are very refreshing, and they have less sugar than watermelon. Oh, but you just can’t beat the taste of watermelon.

I cut the watermelon in half and keep it in the fridge. Whenever I feel like having a few bites I just scoop out with a spoon and eat it. I don't bother cutting it when I am alone and don't have to share it with anyone.

I don't have a salad every day but I do eat them a couple of times a week. I love how much variation you can put into them.

Salad indeed can be made with a lot of variations and a lot of different toppings. What are your favourites?

I would love a salad but at this time cannot afford it. Usually I like to put bacon bits and sunflower seeds and blue cheese dressing.

I cannot always afford bacon and sunflower seeds, so I usually buy just what's available within my budget.

Yes, the heat around here is getting from bad to worse. That's why I have started to include more salads in my meals because that cools the system.
