Every day is a day to celebrate in the month of May. Well, for me anyways. I don't necessarily wait until the end of the month when I blow out some candles and open gifts on that one designated day. Nah, I'm too impatient. So I celebrate early and often, like I did this past weekend at Disney World.
When I entered the theme park, a cast member approached me and asked if I was celebrating anything special. I said "Yes I am!" and my name was scribbled on a button and pinned to my shirt. The rest of the weekend I received lots of well wishes and greetings, and a few freebies along the way. I didn't even know that Disney gave out any freebies, so I was impressed just with that.
Free cupcakes, cake, drinks, appetizers and discounts on merchandise. I felt special all weekend long. Or course, my absolute favorite was the free Dole Whip I got at the Polynesian Resort at Magic Kingdom. Don't know what a Dole Whip is? Look it up. It's nothing short of heaven on earth. My only regret is that I forgot to take a picture of it. haha
So what am I celebrating? Well, glad you asked! I'm not celebrating anything, I just wanted some free stuff! lol

Yummy, that cake looks absolutely delicious. Shame on you fro getting free stuff at Disney. Not really, you totally deserve it. Look at how much money you spend there. I looked up Dole Whip. Oh my, they look scrumptious too. And enjoy your special day soon.

@lovebuglena The nice thing is that the pineapple flavor is not overwhelming. It's very subtle, but just enough so that you know you are not just eating vanilla ice cream. Like I said, it's amazing. And since you like pineapple, I think you would love a Dole Whip. Sounds like you and hubby need to make a trip to Disney World! lol

It’s a soft-serve vanilla ice cream with Dole pineapple juice mixed in. Doesn’t sound like it would be anything great, but when you try one you realize why there is so much hype. They are heavenly.

My birthday always falls on or near Memorial Day each year. I usually try to stay away from Disney on long holiday weekends, because the parks will be super crowded. For a while I would go to New York City every year for my birthday, because everyone clears out of the city on Memorial Day weekend, so flights and hotels would be super cheap.

A Dole Whip is something I always got at Disneyland in California at the Dole ice cream parlor inside the park. I agree that it's heaven on earth.

@LadyDuck I wonder if the Dole Pineapple Company has an exclusive agreement with Disney on the Dole Whips, or if they would have the ability to offer/sell it in other locations around the world? My guess is that they have an exclusive agreement, otherwise they would be selling it all over the world and making a fortune!

Yes, I cheated a little bit. But that’s because I knew I wouldn’t be back to the theme park again until after my birthday.
I make sure to enjoy a Dole Whip every time I go to Disney.

I love Dole Whip--my favorite is pineapple. It's just so good! I am glad you were treated for your ''special'' not celebrating but celebrating trip to Disney. As much as you go there, I am sure you are one of their biggest fans.

Haha, just kidding! I call Disney World my second home. Sometimes I go there just to eat one of their treats or just to shop in one of their stores. Now that my kids are grown, it's not necessarily all about the rides anymore.

@MarieCoyle Disney has always been my place of refuge, so I never felt exhausted after a trip there, even when I’d take my kids there for Christmas and New Years when they were little.
