Money & Quotes of The Day

As I grow older, I have to make a living by myself, and of course it's related to earning money, saving, budgeting, etc. One thing I quite regret is that I don't have such saving habit since I was younger. I have to admit that I used to be extravagant. I've watched many videos about financial literacy. Today I watched about frugal living. I've found many good quotes: "He who will not economize will have to agonize" "Be thankful for what you have, you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never ever have enough." I hope it's not too late to fix my saving habits. Do you have a habit on saving money?

I try to save but what I'm really trying to do is trying to earn more.

That's great, having many income streams or earn more than we've earned is also important

I appreciate that you realize that focusing on money just makes you want more, and that will never make you happy. As a child, I was always good with saving money. My sister always spent hers before she got it.

@happylearner That's true. I am a pensioner and with the rate of inflation my DA doesn't increase equally.

The bitter truth is inflation is higher than salary increment.

I save and then spend. I wish I could just keep on saving but it's impossible as there are emergency expenses sometimes.

That's okay. I think it's better that you have saved money then spend it than you don't save money and confuse what to spend... hehe

it's never too late as long as we can still set aside a small portion for savings.

I put money in my savings twice a month. Once when I get my Social Security check and at the end of the month from my 401K.
