Starting a new habit

I have read somewhere that it would only take 21 days to start a new habit. And that 21 days after starting the new habit, it comes out naturally. With that said, I wanted to start waking up earlier to finish all my tasks earlier too. It won't be long that my little one will be back to 7 am school. Pandemic ended and so goodbye online classes. Since the first day of June, I started to wake up at 5 am. It is a struggle alright. I also spend 10 minutes after waking to exercising. So, far so good. I hope I could keep this new habit. What about you, do you struggle to wake up in the morning? Are you up to start a new habit too? ** Photo not mine. http://fab.cba.mit.edu/classes/863.14/people/tomer_weller/2014/09/09/week1-project-draft/

I wake up every morning at 5. It's a long time habit and I have always been an early bird.

@LadyDuck yes, I am learning about that now too. The earlier I get up the more chores I can finish at earlier time and get to have more time mylotting.

I am not aware of it but if that's the case then I will also adopt good habits for 21 days and will see if it works

Oh wow that is really early. There are times when I wake up at 4 am to pee, it is still dark outside.

It is only now that I am appreciating the quote "early birds catches more worm"

since i married a school teacher and had kids, i learned to wake up very early in the morning. i normally get up at 4:30 a.m. as for a new habit, i dream of becoming a compulsive cleaner. i've yet to achieve a certain level of minimalism. i've been decluttering for years and have been really slow. i hope to someday get rid of a lot of stuff and just live with the essentials. or keep those that "spark joy".

Oh wow, good for you. And yes decluttering is a good thing. Spark joy. Hello Marie kondo! I watched a Netflix documentary about minimalism, Less is now. I wanted to adopt that too.

That is good. I didn't know that it takes roughly that amount of days to form it into a habit or some sort. So, what time do you normally go to bed at night?

True, I just learned about it too. And so far so good. I tend to wake up ahead of the alarm clock. Yey!

I think you will definitely get into the habit of waking that early. In college, I got so used to getting up early that I started to automatically wake up at that same time, even after college.

I hate waking up in the morning but it’s inevitable and at least I have wonderful kids to wake up to that makes me happy. I hope after the 21 days are up that it won’t feel so tough getting up at that time.

I have insomnia - I generally get up early most days anyway

I've never had trouble getting up early, because I have to go to work every 6am. So even on sunday i will also automatically wake up at 4.30am. I recently started getting back to exercising after a long period of laziness.
