Do you take medicine when it's just a headache?

Since i was a child until now i am one of those people who rarely get sick. when it's a mild illness, for example like just having a headache, catching a cold, I don't take medicine. I have my own thoughts if the habit of taking medicine even to the point of dependence on medicines is actually not good and makes my body's immune system worse by the time. therefore I prefer to take vitamin C, keep the body hydrated then only taking a rest. What about you when you have a headache? Do you always take medicine when it's just a headache? Picture via Pinterest.

Maybe... I have major allergic reactions that can put me in the hospital. I'd rather take medicine at home than be hospitalized.

It's great that you have a strong immune system and prefer natural remedies like vitamin C, hydration, and rest for mild illnesses instead of relying on medication. Taking a holistic approach to your health can help maintain a strong immune system in the long run.

@ainnaqo66 ... I detected one thing in my life, medicine acts best only when your immune system works well.. I also observed in many cases the medicine you're taking to recover sometimes not let you to recover.

I get migraines, which are intensely bad headaches that often have nausea, throwing up, blurred vision, and sensitivity to light associated with them. I’ve temporarily lost my vision during a migraine a couple of times. So yes, I absolutely take medicine for that. If I don’t, the migraines can last for weeks. Even with medication, sometimes my migraine will still last a couple of days.

I seem to have forgotten about migraine is also headaches too. I see, Amber. If the headache is a migraine, we really should take medications. If we don't take the medicine, it will be excruciatingly painful. I have never had migraine until now, but i've heard it really bad headaches. And now i heard your migraine experienced, sounds so painful. I hope you don't get migraine again.

A headache on its own isn't an illness, people get headaches for several reasons that aren't have anything to do with being sick. It can be the lack of not enough sugar in your blood, not enough sleep, or lack of caffeine. Not eating or dehydration. Sometimes you get headaches due to stress. A lot of time for a headache yes you can take care of it with no meds and try things from having coffee/chocolate if you need caffeine. If your head is because of insufficient sleep, lay down and try to sleep. If it's due to low blood sugar and not enough food you eat. If any of those doesn't work, you know you need to take meds and probably lay down in a dark room away from people. Migrates a lot of time none of the work till you take something for your head that will relieve it and sleep.

@ainnaqo66 correct, it's also about knowing your body and the different signs of a headache. Getting them in a certain spot indicates a different thing. Like a headache just on your forehead with pressure around your nose sinuses are either impacted or you're having an allergy flare-up. Temple heads one side or another usually stress or tired.

Yes, I do. Did you ever have a migraine headache? The pain and pressure threaten to blow your head up. I can only stand it for a while until I take something to take the edge off. If doing that is bad, then it is bad.

Tidak, saya tidak pernah mengalami migrain sampai sekarang. jika saya terkena migrain saya juga akan minum obat. If the headache is a migraine, we really should take medicines. That's not bad. If we don't take the medicine, it will be excruciatingly painful

No, I try to relieve the pain in other ways. If these fail that's the only time I take in medication. This is a good reminder.

i agree. it depends on the headaches. Thank you, yeah i don't take vitamin C more than 1000 mg per day. I take vitamin C during the day only. Once a time I took vitamin C at night it made me can't sleep. then I found out that it's better to take vitamin C during the day

Depends on what’s causing the headache. Most of the time my headaches are related to allergies or sinus issues, so I will take medicine…more for the sinuses than the headache itself.

No...Never...It is wrong practice.Don't take medicine without doctor prescription and also for simple head ache which lost for few minutes. Oilment enough. It is for external use, so no need to worry about.

I also don't take medicine for coughs. when I get cough I drink warm water, taking vitamin C, and also avoiding oily food. when a cough doesn't go away, i might have no patience for it. At least we've tried to take care of it with no medications, when it doesn't get cured so we just require medicine for it. Thank you for sharing, i am glad your cough get cured.
