Cracklin' Rosie

I bought a house plant. It is a cane type begonia. I am told that it is not an angel wing but is a dragon wing. This variety is called Cracklin' Rosie. Now do not fib. . . the Neil Diamond song came on in your head and now it is stuck. Cracklin' Rosie. They said that the plant is actually named "Rosie" because the red coloring on the back of the leaves makes the silvery dots shine in a rose pink shade. It does not flower a lot but the flowers will be a rich salmon pink as well. It has been many years since I have had begonias.

They get tall, so I put it in a heavy pot. At least my Angel Wings did so I assume these will as well.

Oh, Heather, that is beautiful! You and @CarolDM show the absolute best pictures of the nature a lot of us miss out on, although Carol may be tired of hearing me say that. I’m definitely going to have to show Diana this. I really want to see her grow one of these. Now I’m going to go find that Neil Diamond’s song on YouTube, and take a listen! Thank you SO much for sharing.

@GardenGerty If it is a house plant in winter, maybe I can actually grow one okay. I’d like to try.

@AmbiePam This one needs bright light. Begonias are pretty easy care, though.

@RubyHawk And work is part of being alive, I think. Having people and things to care for is a blessing, although sometimes mixed.

It is much like an angel wing, but I think dragon wings have curlier leaves. They are a fairly newish plant.

There's a song? No, nothing popped into my head. I don't listen to music. The plant's a pretty color, at least.
