So we went all over today and started at this housing for disabled people and so on, she printed off a application for government housing and she told me that we couldn't get into the place I was because we are on SSI and that's considered general assistance. Then I find out it's the same with power, the place we have don't help if your on SSI..makes no sense to me, so we have one more place tomorrow to check, if it's a bust then we are getting our RV back and going

I think it's because they know they can, if it wasn't for the people and government the people that need that extra help wouldn't be able to get it, if that makes sense.

@LadyDuck they should be, I just don't understand, never heard of this before today and it makes me feel so bad for all others that need just some extra help for a boost.

@hillhjill Honestly, I haven't either, and I've been in the system for 17 years. Were the people you talked to from DHS?

@AmbiePam no, one was from a senior/disability place and the other was a lady that works in the tax building that helps people with power bills.

You're right, no one wants to help and it has just gotten worse since then, but one the plus side we are getting our RV back and leaving in it.

What!? That makes no sense about the housing. We are on housing and my husband is on SSI. We have got help with electric bills in the past too... They don't want to make life easy for anyone, do they? I know we have struggled to get things too...but that's awful I am sorry

Yes it was, plus we sat at places with air conditioning cuz it's to hot for my hubby to be in this heat
