Here I am, cozy in bed, waiting for Mario and watching news. It has been raining for over a day here. And the lots of rivers that come here from the Andes to the sea are all destroying everything on its way. Shelters are being put up and there´s a red alert in many towns along the way. We have built so many roads where rivers should be that in these situations they just return to their natural riverbeds and you can see cars in the middle of the river being taken to the Ocean. I have a bottle of 5 liters of water. Today I will see if I can buy another couple of bottles. You never know. Maybe I should fill the tub upstairs for toilet cleaning. Just in case, I say. In these situations, many people lose all they have, specially the very poor. The poor people build houses on river sides not bothering to pay for the land. They cannot do it. All of those houses will be destroyed by the swelling rivers. Nature is a stepmother. We have had a drought during 7 years. And now, in a day, the whole thing changes to another bad thing. Friends, I´m lucky. I don´t have these problems. I feel guilty though because in my house I could have other people living. The world is not fair.

Mother Nature has very little mercy for the troubles of humans. I do feel bad for all those in the path of the flooding rivers.

I agree. What makes me wonder is that I have now seen some rich people´s houses that are built so to say hanging over the rivers to have a better view.

@DWDavis Exactly. I, on the other side, prefer a normal space where I can walk.

I'm so sorry about the flooding. We still need more rain here. I hope it stops raining. I'm glad you are safe and sound.
