What's Respect?

Hey there! I'd love to share some thoughts with you on this matter. In life, it's important to always treat people with respect, even when they might not seem to deserve it. Why? Well, here's the thing: Respect isn't just about them, it's about you and your character. How you choose to treat others reflects who you are as a person. By showing respect, even in challenging situations, you demonstrate your integrity, empathy, and kindness. It's a way of upholding your values and maintaining your own sense of dignity. Plus, you never know what someone else might be going through, so a little kindness and respect can go a long way in brightening their day. So, remember, my friend, regardless of how others may behave, be the person who chooses respect. It's not about them—it's about who you are and the impact you want to make in the world. Keep spreading that positivity and respect! Let me know at the comments about your thoughts about this.

I think I mostly agree with that. Of course, sometimes my mind goes to the extremes, and I thought of a man who verbally assaulted me. I ignored him, but I don’t know what I would have said to him if I had had to speak to him. However, if you are talking about like a run of the mill rude person, I agree. We have no idea what kind of trauma they have experienced, and we may be encountering them on their worst day. By being the bigger person, we might pass on that better behavior to them.

That's right! Doing otherwise would just worsen things.

Showing respect, I always try to do so regardless the situation. But boundaries are more important to me now. It's tiring to pretend to be someone else and those people never try to understand me anyway. As if I'm still the past version of myself and everything I do is wrong even though I'm trying to make ends meet without depending on others, and it hurts because they're family.

This is good reminder, Thank you. Yes, I do show respect to everyone, but if someone doesn't show respect to me, I can no longer respect that person. and I prefer to ignore that person. because I see someone who has no respect for other people, that's part of his character and I can't change that. by ignoring someone who has no respect, for me that is also a form of respect. My attitude depends on their attitude.
