The effect of a carpet

We have a carpet in the centre of the hall which sort connects the sitting area, the entertaining area and the dining area.
It has started raining and so we always roll the carpet and put it back once the monsoon season ends.
The hall now has a bare look and with pets around we have no other alternative but to remove it In fact Sunny spent the whole night inside yesterday and being small she could not wait till the next morning. We had to do a lot of cleaning.

Here they normally dry clean carpets We too wash them occasionally

I wish I did not have carpet, but that is what the apartment complex put down as flooring, so that is what I live with. My living room carpet is new, but my bedroom carpet is old and stained. They had it professionally cleaned when I first moved in, but those stains are permanent. My bathroom and kitchen floor are tile.

We do not have wall to wall carpeting and I think you guys have it more to keep yourselves warm.

@allknowing They put it in the upstairs apartments so the lower apartments won’t hear our walking above so loudly. On the lower floors they installed laminate wood flooring. The carpet helps muffle our footsteps. I’m sure some people do prefer carpet because it keeps their feet warmer.
