November of 2021 when a stray kitten decided to adopt us. A few days (or maybe a week later), we found another one hiding in the hood of our car. Umasou is the name that we gave to him and he went missing September 1st of last year. So it's been 10 months already. That’s how long we have been missing him, and I didn’t realize that until I created a new discussion here. We know it’s impossible for Umasou to go missing this long. His favorite place to sleep is the carrier and he hides whenever he hears a loud noise from outside. He hides whenever someone passes by, and he roams around the area but he always, quickly comes back when we call him. Now, we keep ourselves busy to help us forget about what happened. But we can’t stop thinking about the possible reasons behind his disappearance. Maybe someone, or something chased him away and he ran too far without any idea how to go back home? If he’s not trapped somewhere, he might be injured. Or maybe he was poisoned and taken away for disposal after he died? Is he a victim of hit and run somewhere far from our neighborhood? What terrible odds could happen? He wears a collar with his name and a contact number attached to it. A fellow pet lover who has found him must be worried that he’s not home with his rightful owner. But no good news ever since. Umasou was already neutered that time and he’s also taking vitamins. Every day he’s in our thoughts wondering if he has eaten, if he has a warm place to sleep. He has been missing so much of a good life and we will only be at peace if we see his body, dead or alive. A proper burial we can give him at least. But I guess only a miracle can save him. Photo is by yours truly.

I hope nothing bad happened to him and he will come back.

It sucks to have such bad thoughts but we're still staying positive no matter what.

I just hope and pray that he is safe wherever he is and nothing untoward has happened. It's been pretty long and it's very natural for such upsetting thoughts to come. A closure gives us a mental peace.

We're now at peace somehow. But there's always a time that we talk about our memories living with him.

Yeah, like I was in tears that day he went missing. It was my birth month and I have to leave the following day to visit my family. I feel so guilty that I didn't have the time, or courage to look around for him. We live in a rental home and I don't want the neighbors to think that we might be burglars, or something. Roaming around the neighborhood in the middle of the night and looking at every home. We're laughing it all out later on every time we talk about him.

@piyoz000 Hmm...can relate to that. Take care. Those memories are precious and you can always enjoy them.
