It's Cherry Time Again

Mmm. Cherries. One cup of these lovely, juicy, tasty morsels is only 97 calories, with 3 grams of fiber. They have 2 grams of protein but 25 grams of sugar. The juice can impact your tryptophan, melatonin, and serotonin which are the body's hormones that manage sleep. Cherries also help with inflammation, help to keep your heart healthy, and dark cherry extracts can be used to treat breast cancer cells. One thing to note is that cherry juice does lack the fiber that the whole cherries have. But, the juice can provide a higher dose of minerals and vitamins. Dried cherries may have added sugar which makes this form not as good a choice. Rainier and Montmorency varieties are said to be the better choice to provide vitamins A and C and potassium and antioxidants to the diet. As with grapes the darker the color the more nutritious.

I like cherries but they're too expensive so I don't buy them. My favorite are Bings.

Cherry times started at the beginning of June here, it's almost over. They are very expensive this year, I did not buy, $ 10 for a pound of cherries is ridiculous.

It is nice. But cherries are expensive fruits here and therefore I seldom have them.

I really, really like cherries and they are very good for our health. I want to grow them in our country but maybe they cannot live here because of the tropical climate. I wish I could have them here,

I bought a bag of Bing cherries last week. They weren't as good as they normally are. They were kind of sour. I'm waiting for the Rainier cherries to be in our local grocery store. I like them best, anyway.

I like cherries but they are not so commonly found here. I would buy them whenever I spot them. I always prefer to have any whole fruit than the juice. Being diabetic, I avoid fruit juices.
