Very Hot Weather in Detroit, Michigan

Here in Tawas City, the thermometer is right around 83 degrees. I spoke with my daughter this morning, through a text message. Mari Lyn said their weather this week has been extremely hot, far above 90 degreesF. They usually stay home on the 4th of July. Their neighborhood friends gather together for an outdoors cookout and a small display of fireworks, after dark. This is ideal, because if the children get tired or fall asleep, they can simply climb into their own bed or lay on a blanket in the yard:) The problem with fireworks, they can't be displayed until late in the evening. And most young children are snug beneath covers, before 10:30-11:00P. Anyway, they always have a great time, with their neighbors Photo: Mine

I´d be absolutly happy with 83° F. After having the heater on for all morrning, I think that my house´s temperature is around that. At least, my bedroom and bathroom.

That looks yummy! It’s not “hot” here. As we always say, it isn’t the heat, it’s the humidity. With a dew point at 70 degrees it’s going to feel icky out there.

Our humidity has gone up, too. It's sticky weather, even after taking a shower!

We are driving to my mom and dad's old church, to use their parking lot. The big lake is right across the street, so we can watch the fireworks:)

We don't mingle in large groups of people. Neither one of us like to be in crowds.

@kobesbuddy It's good to have these occasions when families make a special effort to get together. Otherwise, it can be a very long time between catch-ups.

We used to visit certain relatives, every Fourth of July. It was a large gathering of three families.

I’m hearing fireworks in the complex but I can’t see them. They are loud. They started long after dark. I hope they don’t go on all night.

That sounds like a good time. It's going to be 90 here today. I'm staying inside with the AC; and hubs has to go out and run errands unfortunately. Enjoy your day.

Jay is meeting with the realtor this morning. He's eating breakfast first, then heading out the door. Me? I'm going to catch up on my reading, about Theodosia(a fictitious sleuth).

I know what you mean, there were so many children at our fireworks, but hopefully they wont get too tired tomorrow because it's summer.

Hot, humid, and sticky here. Several thunderstorms in the area within just a few miles of me, but none hitting us. We did have about a 2 minute sprinkle.
