... due to inclement weather. I went outside this morning to load the kayaks into the truck and started getting hit with pieces of water falling from the sky. Then came the rumbles. We are now into hour two of a heavy thunderstorm that is expected to continue for at least another 90 minutes. The clouds are so thick that, if one were just waking up, one would think the sun had not yet risen. Everything we need to move into the camper and truck is packed and staged. Once the rain stops, hitching up and loading won't take long. Our estimated time of departure isn't until 1 pm, so we should still hit the mark. A check of the forecast for Chesterfield, VA, the closest city to Pocahontas State Park, shows rain and possible thunderstorms will greet us upon our arrival. Will somebody please tell the Universe that today is Friday the 14th, not the 13th. So, how has your Friday been so far?

We have the infamous southern “air you can wear” here. Hope the weather clears for you.

I feel so good today because I had a very nice video call with my mother and brother with his family. I miss them so much

I'm glad you were able to video call them. How far apart do you live from them?

@m_audrey6788 So, you are half a world away from them. I was in that situation during my two years in Korea. My parents and sisters were all living in New Hampshire in the northeastern US then. We didn't have cell phones and the internet then. To call home, I had to schedule time at the call center on base. Otherwise it was all handwritten letters sent through the mail.

By now, you probably left, and I am hoping you are traveling safely with no problems. It is too hot for me to do much of anything. We are under a heat advisory again today, but then again, a lot of states can probably say that.

I don't think the universe cares what day it is. I hope the storm has passed and you're now on your way.
