MY son is 8 weeks old and all he does is eat non-stop. He eats 2-3 ounces then falls asleep with the bottle in his mouth and when I go to take it out no matter if i go reaaly slow or really fast he always wakes up. He eats about four 8 ounce bottles a day. HE does sleep through the night i have tried to give him cereal to maybe make him get fuller when he eats so I don't have to feed him as much but he won't take it. What should I do to make him not hungry all the time?

Try letting him cry it out unless you think it is gas. Then maybe he needs to be burped. I had to let my daughter cry it out.

at 8 weeks old 32 oz a day is about right for him to be eating, does he just space it out and eat an ounce or two every hour all day? if so you may want to try waking him up when he falls asleep while eating and try to get him to eat atleast 3-4 oz then let him fall asleep and he might sleep for 2 maybe 3 hrs before wanting to eat again. Then again you may want to try adding 1 tblspn of cereal for every once in the bottle, just widen the nipple a little and he shoud drink it like a normal bottle, that will help him to stay fuller a little longer, but he would still be getting the amount of milk he needs everyday. I went through the same thing with my daughter around the same time. She is 4 months old now and eating babyfood because her milk was just not filling, and neither was cereal anymore. Good luck you have 2 beautiful babies :)

Yes , I think that he is drinking enough and not too much. If he is crying and twisting his body, then I would suspect gas. But at this stage the are just growing and the body needs more food to build tissue and muscle.I say feed the boy.

maybe you shld try giving him a lil water. He may just be thirsty instead of being hugnry. Also, if you are trying to introduce him to cereal and he doesnt like it, cut back the amount you are using or try a different flavor.

8 oz bottles at 8 weeks old maybe too much for him. He is probably falling asleep because he is full. Babies won't eat more then they need. It is so hard to tell when they are that age. And when you finally get into a routine that seems to work they hit a growth spurt and it throws you all off again. I know how it goes. Does he take a pacifier? If he does try that when he wakes up after taking half the bottle. Or try to distract him. I remember my son wouldn't take a pacifier but he still wanted to suck. He wasn't always hungry but he always wanted to suck on a bottle. When he was older (9-11 months I started giving him bottles of water at night and eventually empty bottles to suck on). He was eating a lot like your son only because he had that urge to suck. It was hard. Just for comparison. My daughter is 8 months old and she takes four 8 oz bottles a day so to me it seems like your son is eating a lot at one time for his age. Most 8 week olds eat around 4oz every 3-4 hours. At least in my experience but every baby is different. I hope you get it all figured out and I wouldn't worry too much about his weight. Once he starts moving he will probably lose a lot of it.
