Health Matters: Some Bad Fungus is Taking Over My Body

Hello everyone! It's been another while, but it's not that long ago like before. I just couldn't find some time to sit down and share my thoughts with you every single day. Anyway, it's been a while since I had dandruff. I know it's never going away but I finally stopped the habit of scratching my head like there's no tomorrow. I can feel my scalp itch now. But no way, I'm not going to do all that scratching anymore. Bad news is that white patches started appearing on my skin. I lost track of time but I think it's been months already, or even years and it's just recently that I noticed more of these white patches. Anti-fungal creams didn't work so I consulted my cousin who's a skin expert. She prescribed me oral medication and a special cream to bring back my normal skin color. I have yet to take or use such options. So we'll see how it goes when I finally give it a try. Photo grabbed from Reddit.

Skin problems can be seroius. So a visit to a doctor is the way to deal with them. I hope it goes away soon.

I already took the oral medication my cousin prescribed. I'll keep on using anti-fungal cream and regularly check on how the white patches are reacting to it. I hope no new ones will appear this time.

@piyoz000 I hope so. Fungus is very dangerous.

I'm not sure about that special cream yet but I really hope the anti-fungal ones will finally work.

@piyoz000 Is your relative a dermatologist? You may need to go see an actual dermatologist to get a correct diagnosis. I wouldn’t worry about your skin hygiene routine though. I imagine it’s just one of those things that happen to some of us.

Yeah, she is a dermatologist. I myself don't worry so much about hygiene too. Just thinking of all the possibilities that might have caused it.

I know it's not that serious, but it still worries me. I guess maybe it's because of my age too and it's just normal despite how I try to keep a healthy lifestyle. Maybe it's the hygiene that needs to be improved. I tend to keep things simple and I usually place skincare at the end of my self-care list.

Hopefully the treatments work for you. Sometimes during summer when it is hot and humid I develop a heat rash on the back of my neck. It's itchy as f**k and the more I scratch it the faster it spreads, up the back of my scalp. It's hard not to scratch. I just keep it as dry as I possibly can and use a zinc based cream to keep moisture off of it.

I have those rashes before too, especially between the folds of my elbows and knees. Once I start to scratch the area, I can't stop as it makes me feel relieved. But it got worse, and I didn't mind because I already know how to treat it. I'm more relieved that it's all over now.

Seeing how my skin reacts to longer exposure to the sun, I guess I'm really that sensitive. Too bad I fear going to the doctor and take tests. Not because a have a little trauma, but because I don't like spending any money on stuff like that. I'd rather spend it on better food choices, you know what I mean.
