I received a message from one of my close friends telling me that ahe just won a money price and when the price was delivered to her, she saw my name on the list of winners. She told me to click on the link to contact the prize organisers. When I contacted them, a lady gave me her name and said that ahe was the agent of the price moneys. She asked for my ID and personal details. After giving those information, she comfirmed that I won $1500. It will be delivered as a cheque to my address. Before they deliver the cheque, they want me to pay them $50 as a transfer fee, preferably with my credit card. They said that this fee is refundable and will be added to the cheque that they will give me. Sounded fishy to me, so I queried about their authenticity, and she was adamant that it was for real. I wasn’t convinced, so I told them that I was no longer interested. At this point she became insistent and tried to pressure me. So I deleted and blocked her on messenger, removed all my personal details and deleted any communication with them. Do you have any similar, experience?

@vickyrose I wouldn't have given them any information. I hope that doesn't bite you in the butt later on.

Good you did not go ahead with the transaction. Recently someone contacted me on Facebook for something that I had put on sale there. I suspected he was not a genuine person. When he shared the address for delivering the goods I realized it was an incomplete address. When he realized he could not fool me into coming to the given address he started abusing me. And he had claimed he is from the Army.

I'm so glad you saw it for what it was before it was too late. These types will stop at nothing to get your info and/or money.

Your friends messenger account could have been hacked. Somebody could have sent you this that was not your friend. I got something like this that happened to me and found out later that they were hacked. I don't respond to stuff like this on the internet.
