I have been put in a financial spot of helping some family members and also with prices going up for food, utilities, transportation and more I need to earn some more money. Does anyone have any ideas? I don’t have a car and there is not any public transportation in the town I live in.

Put yourself on the waiting list for a survey site called Prolific. You will get accepted for 90% of all surveys. I made $160 last month. Good luck.

Does prolific pay that much? That's a hefty amount earned on survey.

Maybe you can ask help from your social welfare office if you have. There are other online earning sites that you can try but earning there is not easy. You can apply for online teaching work if you can.

Thanks! Yes we do have social services here, but they have a certain criteria of how much money a person can earn and it's never enough!

It looks like Linda had a good idea. Can the person or persons who need money also go to a food bank? With some food banks, you don’t have to show income at all.

Around here you do have to apply to go to the food banks and a lot of the food is outdated. I reported it and the lady said that those dates don't matter, lol

@dfollin Yikes. I’ve never been to a food bank, but when I moved here they handed us a list of food banks. Most require a photo ID, and proof of income (like my disability amount each year), but we do have one that just lets anyone come in, no questions asked. I understand canned food lasts a little bit longer than the expiration date, but I didn’t think it was THAT much longer. That sounds gross.

I am sorry, I have no good suggestions for you. May be writing articles for sites like Fiverr, or to write reviews.

I'm sorry, I don't know of a way to make extra money right now. All I know about are things like myLot and the games app Pretty and I use to make some extra spending cash. Pretty works for a comic book artist, drawing some of the action sequences he posts and gets paid for that. Again, it's just extra spending money. I hope you can find something that will help you.

@dfollin There are several apps that are play for pay. The one that pays the most is called Mistplay. You sign up for it and give them your PayPal address. Then they start you off playing Bingo for a while, depending on how much you play. (For us, it was a few days.) Then they start offering other games with different pay amounts. Pretty plays some really weird games. I play the different types of solitaire. (Pretty cashes our accounts out at $25 each time we reach that amount and it's paid straight into our PayPal accounts.) I always use a straight edge to draw straight lines.

@DaddyEvil Yes, you mentioned Mistplay to me before. But apparently it won't work in this area.

Looks like you got some great suggestions here. I hope it works out for you. Never be afraid of saying no to those who ask for help if you are not able to help.

@dfollin I wish you the best in finding resources. There should be many in your area. They can be very hard to find. Ask churches and locals perhaps.

I don't know a lot of suggestions, unfortunately. We have been trying to get caught up on bills ourselves. My husband picked up a second job and I begin working again in a couple of weeks. I have cricket for my cell phone provider and found that if you play games you earn points and can earn gift cards that help with things. There are a bunch of small ways to make small amounts of money but it's not a lot. I don't know how you would feel about babysitting or if you have any talents you could use like I know some people sell jewelry or crafts. I used to babysit for extra money but stopped in recent years when I started working for our local school district.

Yeah, I have tried playing games, but I have found ones that you can earn from yes. But you have to buy the games. Here if you babysit you have to be licensed and your home has to be inspected and approved. I also live in an apartment and they don’t allow you to run your business in your home with customers coming there. The only way I can get around not being licensed is if the child is related to me.

@dfollin I've never had to buy any of the games I've made money off of. Some of them just don't give out actual cash it's usually gift cards and things. We only need to be licensed here if you watch so many kids. I used to know the exact number I want to say it's five but it has been years. Your state sounds way more strict than mine.

You can create an account on Fiverr. If you like writing, you can search for a writing job on the site.
