Toasted eggs

We are doing our kitchen remodel right now. While our stove is hooked up to the gas still, it is very dirty. I don't want to cook on it. And the tiles have been removed from the kitchen floor, which doesn't entice me to cook there either. Sunday, I did something that I've never done in my life. I toasted eggs for breakfast. I made bologna sandwiches and really wanted a sunny egg in it. The stove was out of the question but I did have a toaster oven. I did a search online and turns out you can make them in a toaster oven. I thought you do sunny eggs on the bake setting but the video I found used the toast setting. You butter a tray, crack the eggs into it, and put it into a toaster oven on a toaster setting for 4-5 minutes. You end up with sunny eggs. They are not rubbery and the yolk is pretty runny.

You cook on the kitchen floor? I wouldn't cook there, either. I'm glad you figured out a way to make something you like without messing with a nasty stove. (Eww... yucky. I can't eat runny yolk... but, luckily, you didn't offer me any. )

Lol no. But with the floor tiles removed and the stove being dirty I didn't wanna cook in the kitchen. I had a wooden table that you eat in front of the tv on. I put the toaster oven on it in the living room and made the eggs in it. Runny yolk is so good. I guess you are not a fan of soft boiled eggs then.

@lovebuglena I'm glad I got a laugh out of you. I was trying to help you out. No, when I was working out all the time, I used to drink two raw eggs with a little milk and cinnamon to help with muscle growth but if I see runny yolk, I can't eat it. Seeing it will make me throw up.

I’ve never tried that before, but since I do own a toaster oven, I should give it a try. I’m always looking for new ways to enjoy eggs.

@lovebuglena I’m sure that if you really know what you’re doing, you can cook an egg in just about anything.

You can also hardboil eggs in a toaster oven. One video I saw, the guy did that. I just can't remember if he set his toaster oven on bake or on toast. But he did it for like 30 min.

Hard boiled, soft boiled or medium? I love soft boiled eggs more than hard boiled. But lately I've been doing a 6-minute egg. So good.

Oh wow, that's pretty interesting to do. We haven't remodeled our house yet but when we do I hope it turns out our eggs for breakfast turns out the same. That is if we have to stop using our appliances for the time being.

Our guy kept stove plugged in but stove is nasty so don’t want to use it. Told him to just unhook stove from gas line. We use a toaster oven to reheat stuff. But we bought a hot plate with 2 burners for when we decide to cook something. Just have to figure out where to put it.

I will say though that the spots on the tray that were buttered but had no eggs on them started to burn.

They were definitely cooked through. I'd say the yolk was slightly over on the bottom. But that's because hubby thought they weren't done and didn't turn it off earlier. Good thing I checked or they would've been way over.

Yep. Good to know you can cook eggs without a stove. I saw a video where one guy was making hardboiled eggs in a toaster oven as well. I don't remember if it was set on toast or bake though.
