Sprinkling salt inside a stinking shoe

Do you perform this old tradition of sprinkling salt inside stinking shoes just to eliminate the smell. Does it even work? I have never try it but it is probably working for some people. If you dont use this technique, what alternative do you know to stop stinking shoes?

I have never used this before, baby powder works very well.

@ogbenishyna I have always left it in all night and then knock the powered out the next day when it's time to wear them

How do you use baby powder? You leave it in your shoes for few hours??

Never heard of such a traditional, but atleast now I've heard it. Got no solution other than washing after every wearing

washing your shoes may damage them quickly, you know.
