How to deal bad people?

I've smiled and greeted other people, but he/she ignored me. At first I felt hurt by his/her attitude that did not respect me. Until after a long time I got used to it, and now I don't care about how they treat me. I believe good or bad deeds will all come back to each of us. So, now I try to be sincere and keep doing good even to people who are bad to me. I do not feel at a loss to continue to do good, because God will not waste my kindness. I'm still happy even though they keep being bad to me. So, the key to happiness is not to focus on other people's hatred for us, because it is a trivial problem that is hard for us to continue to stay above goodness. What do you think?

I go to a gym pool twice a week. I encounter other women in all manner of dressed or undressed in the locker room. I've said a polite and friendly hello! to most anyone near me for about a year. I've yet to make a friend but am doing my best to be content with a return hello sometimes.

I always say "Hello" to everyone especially people I know, even though they often ignore me. But I have no problem and keep smiling even though smiling alone. Sometimes I feel funny because I smile alone.

I'm not a chatty person at all when it comes to other people but I do acknowledge others with a smile or a nod when I encounter them. Whether they acknowledge me back doesn't matter.

Your attitude is very good, you are suitable to be in Indonesia even though not all Indonesians are like you, but the majority of our people are friendly.

You do reap what you sow, and I want to be on the right side of that. Whomever chooses to be hateful, abusive, or even rude, will be repaid in kind.

@astutimeliana723 I was walking close to home just now and I decided I was going to look at and smile at everyone that was coming the other way and as they got near I looked at them and gave them a smile and everyone that smiled back I said hello. It made my walk more enjoyable.

Uhm... If a stranger doesn't return my polite "Hello.", I'd just continue on without thinking about it. There are days I don't feel like talking to strangers so would ignore the person, too. You can't tell what the other person is thinking or what kind of day they've had before you spoke to them. In no way would I consider someone ignoring me as "bad". Maybe they just don't want or need a new friend.

Yes, I know your point of view, but according to the prevailing culture here which upholds courtesy and friendliness, if someone ignores when being greeted he will be considered bad and impolite.

@astutimeliana723 If you ever come to the US, don't expect people to be "polite" like that because it won't happen.

@DaddyEvil Hehe, I see. I saw the video content of Indonesian YouTubers in America. He told us many things about America, there are so many cultural differences between here and there. So, from there I know a little about America.
