Gadar 2 a huge blockbuster

When Gadar 2 was released on 11th August, there was anticipation that the movie would be a huge hit, but even filmmakers would not have thought that it would be such a humongous blockbuster. As of this date, the movie has done second second-highest box office collection from India and is still going. Will it break the highest box office numbers of Pathan in India that stands at Rs 543 crores?

Pathan was released in 2022 or was it early 2023?
I have read that OMG2 is also doing good business and both of these movies have contributed a lot to the overall kitty for 2023 for Bollywood.
Yet I still do not see most of the current lot of Bollywood movies up to the mark, especially with regards to Entertainment.
Originality of story is also not good for most of the movies and there are so many remakes as well.
By the way, have you seen the movie?

Remakes or Sequels mostly fall short of the part 1, except movies like Terminator 2 and perhaps a few more.
Hera Pheri 2 (Phir Hera Pheri) was not as good as HeraPheri.
Bhool Bhulaiya 2 was not even worth watching (my personal opinion).

Pathaan was released in January 2023.
We are going to see a lot of 90s and early 2000s movie sequels coming up in next few years. Now filmmakers have realised to not go for remakes and instead go for sequels, with Gadar2, it is proved that in sequels peple love to revisit those iconic characters and the story screenplay need not be that amazing.
Yes, I have seen the movie..I liked the movie overall..few moments were absolutely mind blowing..but compared to original Gadar it falls short by miles.

Jailer too came as a lease of life for Rajnikanth...he needed such a blockbuster for a long time may be since 2.0
But Gadar 2 as a movie was not of that standard as the original Gadar was, and it still managed to pull crowds and people showing so much love for the movie is amazing.

I went to see this movie with the benchmark of original Gadar, and again I knew what I was expecting...so my expectations were somehow fulfilled in second half with some high pitched action scenes and climax dialogues and all.
What really didn't work for me was lack of brilliant drama that gadar2001 had. the first half was too focused on Jeete, and that is where the difference was. I really cant say how good or bad the movie is, but may be the nostalgia factor has worked wonders for the movie.

@avi256 I simply disliked the movie and this is one of those movies that I won't plan to watch again, They just overexaggerated the facts, music was below-par
