Why are men so dishonest?

I baked a cake after real long time. I am not satisfied with it. My father says its great. My neighbors say it is great. Even a 11 year old boy says its great. I now know that all four are liars. What is common in all of them? Guess? All are male species. No offense meant to the species...but I wish they would be honest at least regarding cake. It is not as if they would be off my list of heirs...or something so serious.

Maybe they just don't want to be on the receiving end of the wrath of Vanny!

I cannot fire them. I cannot throw things at them because the things are mine, and if they break, I will be depleting my bank balance. I haven't come across anything that I could qualify as my wrath ...that would not cause me some loss. Maybe you can suggest.

That is worth a serious thought. Maybe he is told it is bad manners? No...sugar is short by about 10 to 15 gms I think. This time I bought measured amount from the shop. Normally, I personally measure it on my measuring scale. I also think it could do with a little bit more of essence.

If they don't spit out the food then they are definitely telling the truth.

Hmm... did you ever consider that the cake tasted good to them, even if you found fault with it? I often find that the taste buds of men aren't the same as the taste buds of women. You might be interested in a study I found. Some men don't taste things as intensely as some women. It's an interesting read, at least.

I had a strange feeling. You all are different species. We women are different species. I will read that later. Right now I have to give dad dinner. But ...a bit disappointed. I bought half kg sugar from shop. Normal shop does not give half kg. So I usually measure it. This shop gives to poor people. So I thought, I will buy exact quantities of flour and sugar. What happened? Sugar was about 10 to 15 grams maybe 20 grams less.

@vandana7 Oh, I'm sorry that happened. Unless they will let you measure it or let you watch them measure it, I wouldn't buy from them again. What did you have for dinner? I made a large batch of spaghetti with meat sauce. If you ate meat, I'd share it with you.

@DaddyEvil I had spinach with lentils. It is one of my favorite curries. Do you like sour tamarind taste? I like it. So here is the lentil (toor dal...look up to know if you get it in your world). We wash in put it in pressure cooker. Add, well washed, well chopped spinach, 5 medium sized tomatoes diced for a small bowl of lentil, small round sized (our limes are small, our tomatoes are small too, and all our vegetables are small compared to what you all get so I cannot give you measurements) lime sized tamarind, 2 onions chopped, about 10 chillies (our chillies are not as pungent as yours). Some asofotida (don't know the spelling), and one teaspoon cumin seeds, and half teaspoon turmeric powder, and some oil, two glasses of water. Close the pressure cooker, and place it on gas. Then, when it is done (6 whistles), open put salt and chillie powder, and then season it externally ..we have seasoning bowl. In that six tablespoons of oil, 9 pods or petals or garlic, three dried chillies, one teaspoon of cumin seeds one teaspoon of mustard...and again asofotida and turmeric. First goes mustard, then cumin seeds, then garlic, then dried red chillies, then turmeric and asofotida. Once done switch the gas off, add sweet curry leaves so that there is no fire. Now while it is still sizzling hot, pour in the lentil plus everything. So simple...I cook it like background curry. I usually have one background curry or liquid curry and one dry curry. In addition, some non veg for dad. Dry curry keeps changing everyday because it is lesser quantity. Wet curry ...every three or four days I prepare one. I like this one because there are no masalas in there. So hopefully nothing irritates my stomach lining.

Not delicious, but quite satisfactory. Yesterday I thought I scored 50 percent. Today, I increased my marks to 75 percent. That is ok, I think.

Maybe it did taste good to them, I swear that they have different likings when it comes to food then we do...and if I make something and my husband don't like it, he'll tell me what's and why he don't.

I ate it today. It was quite tasty. I agree. Men have different tastes when compared to us. Honesty helps us too, right?

So what if they are all male, My kids lie to me about something I've made, and it was bad saying it was okay. It's because they don't want to hurt your feelings. It has nothing to do with one's gender. My husband freaked out last night and started to cry because he forgot to get me a burger. I told it's just a burger. So yes, for some people food is more than just food. Sometimes a white lie is okay when you're trying to spare someone of their feelings especially if it's something they haven't done in a long time. You didn't say how you knew they were lying? Did you taste it and not like it which then it could be just you? I don't like cooking pasta at home it doesn't taste right to me but to my kids, it's always good to my husband it's always good. I don't doubt that they are lying to me just because I don't enjoy it.

That ..is so true. We women are fussy. My aunt is very particular. My cousin eats whatever is served on his plate. Funny. They are mother and son. So different in nature.

Hi Vanny, I am sure that they did not lie. Maybe they are same with me. In my opinion about food-taste is only two : delicious and most delicious. For me there is no food that doesn't taste good hahaha
