Back for a bit

I stopped by and visited a bit here a month ago and thought I should come visit again. It's summer/early autumn in my part of the world so I'm still rather busy cleaning windows and working as a cashier at the job I've been at for the past twenty-five years. I'm ready to retire and have been ready for two years but my husband was in my insurance until a year ago April of this year, I think. I'm order for him to be on my insurance I had to work full time. Once he got full Medicare I dropped down to pay time. But working this job is getting harder on my body so I am retiring sometime with in next seven months. A new contract is being worked on and if a buy out is being offered I'll be taking it. But I will have to wait until it's offered but it's usually in Feb. If I find out that no buy out is included I might leave earlier than that. In the mean time I've been looking for something I can do online instead. I've started making journal notebooks and am excited about the potential for my success. I will sell them initially thru kdp's print on demand services thru Amazon. Eventually I'll be making more than normal notebooks. @dadyevil I've finally tried some swarma. It's quite interesting. My sister lives in Detroit so we went nearby to a swarma restaurant. I didn't love it but I might try it again. I didn't do windows this morning because my ladder guy isn't feeling well. I hope he's better tomorrow. So I cut down some small weed trees and goldenrod that I'm hoping to nip in the bud before it spreads. I also took some old paint cans to the road for big trash pick up. I'm not going anywhere for labor day weekend but my sister is visiting from Ohio and we've not seen her for three or so years. But I'm working when she's here so I'm trying to switch shifts. I hope everyone is doing well. I'll try to watch my notifications for awhile.

I really hope that you do get to retire soon, I'm sorry that it's getting harder on your body and that your notebooks take off. I would love to see what they look like. I've been kinda busy going through stuff and getting ready for a year sale..and I've been thinking hard on making my homemade Christmas tress again. Also we've been doing alright.

Are you doing something like a yard sale? If so I've done them before. They're a lot of work. Good luck on selling what you want to get rid of.

@hillhjill our city has a city wide one in the fall too and also in the spring I think. I've never done those though.

I'm glad the shawarma peaked your interest enough that you're willing to try it again. I told my daughter a few days ago that I was ready to make another batch. I usually make enough for several people and portion the extra servings in freezer bags so we have it ready when we want it. I hope you do get bought out so you can retire into your notebook job. It's good to see you back on myLot.

I'll be retiring and doing the notebooks and other things whether I get the buy out or not. I probably won't be back long term yet but maybe I can stop in more often than I did in the past year.

Thanks. I'm totally ready. Other than the money or lack thereof. That's why I'm hoping to have a good start on the online business. I'm sure I'll share on that more as time passes.

Hello Marsha and welcome back. We missed you here. I am glad your sister is visiting for Labor day. It is good that you retire, I know that aging it gets more and more difficult to do certain jobs. Take care. (The pictures not always show up, Admin wrote a post about the problem)

@MarshaMusselman The problem started a few weeks ago and has not been fixed yet.

I read his post. Most of everyone's profile pics show up but even after I re-uploaded mine it still didn't take. That's okay. I'm not here for the pics anyway.

Happy that you popped on to say hello. I'm glad things are basically going well and I hope you figure out a retirement plan. Selling notebooks sounds interesting and hope you find it profitable. It would be nice to be able to see a picture. Enjoy the visit with your sister.
