Day 49 Mark 10:13 Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. 14 When Jesus saw it, He was displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. 15 Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.” 16 And He took them up in His arms, put His hands on them, and blessed them. When I was a child, I often heard ‘Children should be seen and not heard’. Adults treated children with disrespect, giving them no regard for anything. It was rare for me to have someone treat me as someone who knew what they were doing. I don’t know if that was normal for everyone, but it was for me. Jesus rebuked His disciples when they tried to turn away those who brought their children to Him. He told them that the only people who could enter the kingdom of heaven were those who acted as innocently as children. Children believe what their parents tell them. They have faith in what they say and trust them not to harm them. As Christians, you are to be like children. When you accepted Jesus as your Savior and Lord, you promised to do what He told you. Yet many Christians decide what they will and won’t do for Jesus. They don’t trust Him to take care of them because they needed to take care of their needs most of their lives. They have little faith and trust that God will take care of them. Jesus said you are to be like children. Children believe without question. They trust that what you tell them is the truth. When you lay aside doubt and fear and trust and believe in Jesus, you will be like little children. You will believe everything Jesus tells you and do and go where He directs you. Your faith will increase, and you will see life as a little child, full of faith and trust. What kind of faith do you have? Do you feel God’s blessing in your life because you trust and believe Him? Let’s pray: Father, help me to trust You as a little child. Increase my faith as I believe You will never leave me or forsake me but will always lead me where You want me to go and provide everything I need. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
