Our ex maid has adopted a little girl who is now 18 months old. She visited us today with the baby and I told her she can pick any soft toys are there with us as I have loved collecting soft toys She told me her little girl enjoys watching videos meant for kids and so not quite enthralled looking at soft toys. Is this trendy these days or is it just with this kid?

You play with soft toys, not look at them. Its natural for little kids to want to touch and play with things...

This kid did pick one that was lying around but the mother soon switched on the mobile and gave it to her

@allknowing l doubt that mother would ever encourage her kid to get any kind of exercise.

How sad that sounds..the end of an era of toys..it does seem that even the youngest of kids are now into the videos and technology. Here in the USA, most kids are only into online world.

You have to blame the parents for initiating them.

I think younger and younger children are in the habit of watching videos and playing on tablets. It's sad to think that they aren't playing and using their own imaginations.

They are being groomed to live in a virtual world

I think that depends on individual. My nephew's little girl loves soft toys. She also watches videos though.

I guess it's trendy because i have experienced that with my nieces. I visited them before they turned two, i had bought them soft toys when i gave to them they didn't look that interested with the toy. They left them there and went to their tablets then my sister told me that they enjoy watching videos meant for kids. So yeah it is trendy i guess

I don't know enough little kids to know what is 'in' and what isn't. Certainly games on devices, etc, seem incredibly popular.
