Achachairu fruit / myLot

It's the season of Achachairu fruit again and we got a chance to taste it again this year. This is also called a Bolivian Mangostene and its the same family in the genus Garcinia. The fruit is a bit sweeter this year compared to last year. Anyone of you familiar with this rare fruit?

I was born and grew up in the Philippines, but I have not heard of this fruit. I know mangosteen, but I am not at all familiar with this fruit.
