Well, I finished the book about Elvira. It was a 3 hanky one. I cried three times. Once when she was homeless for a time in Europe, once when she found out too many of her friends had died of HIV, and once at the last of the book when she spoke about her long marriage and it coming to an end. I enjoyed her story. She has had quite an interesting life. It is entitled "Elvira, Cruelly Yours by Cassandra Peterson. Then I read one about an ex-scientologist. How he finally 'blew' the International Base where he had worked and put up with all the torturous activities the Chairman of the Board dished out. His wife and he now both have thriving businesses and two sons. It was a really good book called "Blown For Good" by Marc Headly. Now I am reading a YA ghost story. The author is very good and really keeps me wondering for sure what is going on. She has pretty much established the ghost and now to see what the back story is on these two kids. It is called "The Old Willis Place" by Mary Downing Hahn. I am really enjoying reading again. I hadn't for a long time and then when I started having the cataract issue I just couldn't. I still have another cataract to go but right now my vision is fine. Have you read any good books lately?

My laptop just started reading the Sookie Stackhouse series to me by Charlaine Harris yesterday. I read them as they were published and never watched the movies made about them... The books are really good.

Yes! I love everything Charlaine has written... Sookie Stackhouse, Harper Connelly, Lily Bard, Aurora Teagarden all great series.

I'm still on a reading hiatus. I have a whole bookcase of good books to read; but I just can't seem to get started. I know once I did I wouldn't be able to put them down. Have a good day.

I used to love to read. I quit because of anxiety and not being able to concentrate.

@celticeagle Concentration is a big issue for me. I used to be a voracious reader.

Most of the books I read are "good" but I tried recently to read Farewell to Arms by Lemmingway and it was so painful I threw it in the recycle bin after a couple chapters. It was like listening to a hyperactive five year old trying to tell you what happened... Glad you're enjoying reading again.

Oh Gawd yes to Mary Downing Hahn. That lady and her excellent tales. The mention of her brings back memories of road trips- hubby would have one of her books on the audio player and off we'd go across the state into ghastly traffic. I think we have read all of her stuff.
