I am planning to buy some exercise equipment to exercise and strengthen my legs. i still don't know what kind to buy. i want something small and not bulky and that will benefit my legs the most. i don't usually do exercise. but I do want to make it a daily part of my routine. not wanting to look athletic but just to give enough strength and stability to my body. what kind of exercises do you like most. what equipment do you have

I have a small “stair stepper”, and it is really compact. It is pretty much like going up stairs without a railing. Then, it slides right back under my bed. I only walk now as exercise, so that piece of equipment is useless to me now.

yes stair stepper seems to be no different to just walking. i have treadmill. i don't use it also. i just walk a lot also anyway. I don't like running. it hurts my legs. that's why I'm cautious buying another one. I'm making sure i will buy an equipment that will involve an exercise that I hardly do on my everyday activity

@hotsummer Oh no the stair stepper I have is way different than walking. Your calf and thigh muscles get worked really hard, as well as the muscles in your rear. You can tighten or loosen the stairs, depending on how much you want to work your muscles. My legs were so sore after I was done. I felt like I had climbed 30 flights of stairs.

I have a recumbent bike, I do not need a stepper, because our house is on three levels, I climb steps all the day long.

that's great. it's relaxing to use compared to sitting like on cycling bike. I'm using pedal exercise. there's only a pedal. no seat. i just seat anywhere and pedal on it like on bicycle. it's also relaxing. i can adjust how hard the resistance on the pedal. but it's not too hard though. but it's okay can still give benefit on my legs

@hotsummer I have the same pedal that I used for my arms and shoulder. My therapist suggested the pedal when I had a problem with my right shoulder.

I have a small pedal thingy. When I sit down I pedal. I keep it under the coffee table, I also walk outside and go to the gym occasionally.

@hotsummer I walk too. I usually get 8000 steps a day. I mostly use my pedal machine if I don’t quiet have my 8000 steps walking.

I have some dumbbells, but they are too heavy. I prefer to return them.

yes better not use it if it's too heavy. . i used 2 kilos of dumbbells for one hour . then i suffered shoulder impingement. had so much pain on my shoulder and arms for a year or so. when I raise it and move it. i had physical therapy sessions for a year or for the pain to get my arms to get to normal range of movement without pain
