I Spent $143 at an Estate Sale Today

Oh my gosh, what a great time I had at an estate sale today. You may think that spending $143 at an estate sale is a lot of money, BUT since I sell on eBay, most of it was a business expense! I haven't even unloaded my truck yet, but here's what I can remember of what I bought: 4 coats at $8.00 each 3 shirts at $3.00 each 1 hat $3.00 5 pairs of Sketchers women's shoes $4.00 each 1 Vera Bradley purse $3.00 1 set of plastic drawers for my storage unit (for eBay) $5.00 1 American Girl doll $45.00 1 new bottle of glucosamine (for my arthritis) $1.00 ($9.95 at Walmart) 1 jar of spaghetti sauce $1.00 1 box of Brillo pads $1.00 1 set of 10 large stencils $5.00 1 container of embroidery thread $5.00 1 box of hygiene products which includes new dental floss and a toothbrush, etc.) There are a few other things but I have high hopes for selling the shoes, shirts, jackets, and the American Girl doll for a nice profit on eBay. I will keep you updated on anything I make a good profit on. One thing's for sure, when I am at an estate sale, I am totally in the zone of looking for bargains and things to resell on eBay and it keeps my mind off my recall of my mammogram. :0) What's the best thing you ever bought at an estate sale/yard sale?

My husband found a cute outfit for me at a yard sale I think. I still fit in it, but because it was used there are holes where there shouldn't be.

@kaylachan Oh no, that's too bad. Was it anything you could mend?

@Kouponkaren I don't think so. I suppose if I wanted to, I could but I just decided not to worry about it.

Oh I'm jealous! My best find was something I kept for myself. It was a set of dishes and I forgot the designer name but they are country themed with a rooster on them. Fits perfectly with our old house! Did you see my post about what I found at the flea market yesterday?

I’ve been to a few sales but I only bought items for my use. My sister shops at thrift stores and yard sales to sell on eBay for a good profit.

@Kouponkaren That’s a good idea but with postage so high I don’t see see how you guys make a profit. Of course I know you do or you wouldn’t be in the business. I tried it for a little but hardly broke even.

@RubyHawk I do both...my primary goal is to find things to resell on eBay, but sometimes I do find things for myself to bring home as well.

You have some bargains there. I used to sell on Ebay but posting was a pain

@Gilljane I don't mind the posting but I hate the packing and shipping part of selling on eBay. My favorite part is the treasure hunting at estate sales and thrift shops, and hearing the ca-ching of the cash register which means I have made money!

I got two boxes of envelopes a 1000 in each box for 25 cents each. The envelopes are different colors. Two small storage boxes for 25 cents. Yes I spent a lot.

@jstory07 Wow, those are amazing deals. I sometimes buy those kinds of thing but I pay more than that for them.

I have bought a couple of antique cutlery and plates from eBay that I know have come from people buying them at estate sales and selling them online.

You certainly got a lot of good stuff. Now stop that let's keep the M word out of our minds. I keep wishing the best for you so sending you encouragement and virtual hugs, I have only been to one yard sale ages ago and got a nice table lamp for a few bucks,

You got some great bargains! I guess my great buy was at a yard sale years ago when I bought a home made quilt that was beautiful for $20 I think. I kept it for a while, then sold it on ebay for $200.

That is nice. I bought a second-hand bag at a garage sale three years ago.
