Are their superstitions you still take serious sometimes?

There are many superstitions I dont think of but there are some I still take serious, For instance, sleeping directly opposite a mirror is something I dont like doing. Not that I have experience strange things doing it but I just dont feel like having a mirror directly opposite my bed.

I imagine it can scare a really sleepy person who is just waking up.

For a while we had a mirror directly opposite our bed when we rented a furnished apartment. I really did not care.

@LadyDuck How are you sure about that? I have seen many exorcism movies where a mirror was placed at the roof to get a spirit out of a possessed person.

There's one though it sounds weird but I still take it serious. Whistling at night. I was told that if one whistles at night you are calling dark and bad magic because they usually roam at night. Until today I've never tried it.
