That Was Different!

We had a surprise trip to the theatre yesterday. Two friends of ours had double booked themselves and couldn't exchange or refund their tickets so they offered them to us rather than see them unused. The tickets were for a ballet and I've never been to a ballet before. I might not have gone to this one if it wasn't Black Sabbath the Ballet! The Birmingham Royal Ballet are putting on a trilogy of Ballets presenting different aspects of the city and the second story is the story of Black Sabbath. I enjoyed the performance, you can't help be impressed by the dancers, and I think the writer and the directors and choreographers managed to weave the story, music and dancing together very well. This is especially true given that Black Sabbath are an unlikely subject and pairing for a ballet! That said, their music has always been very expressive even if a lot of the stories it told were very dark. Have you ever had a surprise gift of tickets to something?

No, I haven't been gifted tickets like you. The ballet is something I haven't been to before but I am sure would be enjoyable to see. As you say, how the choreography is is so outstanding.

I can't say I have. We kind of got free tickets to the Volosia county fair one year, I think. But, we were expecting those. We also won some goodies in a raffle. So, that was fun.

I was gifted tickets to a Shania Twain concert (a famous country star). Definitely not as unique as a Black Sabbath ballet though!

No, I haven't and I don't think I'd enjoy going to a ballet even if someone offered tickets to it. I'm glad you enjoyed the experience, though.
