Mid-Week Update

Hey everyone, how are you all doing?
It is getting close to 1 PM here on this Wednesday in September. The month is almost over, it sems like it just began. Today is a nice fall day, I guess you could say. Currently 68 degrees, but supposed to get to the low 70s. Guess we should enjoy that because this weekend is going to be in the 50's and rainy. Yuck!
Anyways -- I finally got some sleep last night. I didn't think I was going to because I was coughing a lot for quite a long time. However next thing I know my alarm is going off saying it was time to get up for the day. So I probably got 5 and a half hours of sleep or so instead of just 3-4. I hope to make up for the lack of sleep Friday through Sunday lol.
I am still sick, and coughing a bunch. I seem to get coughing fits where I will cough a ton at once...then can go a while where I seem to be okay. Maybe that is a sign that I am getting better. Who knows.
Today we should be getting the rest of the car stuff in order; transferring the title now that we filled out the right paperwork, then dealing with the registration and finally switching over the insurance.
After that need to figure out what I am going to do with our current car until I find out where to take it to get rid of it. There was an ad in the paper for someone buying junk cars, or I found a place online and I submitted the cars info for an offer and they'd give about $500 and come and tow it to wherever they are located. Need to look more into that. Have you ever done something like that?
Other than that, not a whole lot going on today. Maybe later I will share how the car stuff went and share my food for the day. I meant to do that daily (the food thing) but then I got sick and haven't felt like doing much.

Hope you are starting to get better. I have never checked with any of the we will buy your car things. I do know if you just want rid of it that Goodwill will even pick them up

Nope, still sick and coughing, got some different medicine and will see if that helps
Oh okay, me neither....never needed to before but now we have a car we don't need. Didn't know goodwill would do that, but we don't have a goodwill lol

@MarieCoyle I don't go on vacation, and the money could actually help some. The junker place is legit and would give about $500.

There is a Kars for Kids thing...it's on TV and online. You donate your car, you get some type of vacation voucher. You could look into it, I do know it's legit.
Look up the value of your old car. You might be surprised.

Oh no I'm sorry your sick, I hope you get feeling better soon.
The new car sounds awesome and I'm glad to hear that. I have done that thing where people buy junk cars for 500.

@MommyOfEli2013 well even if it's the same age as your other it's still new to you and yes we always have a jump pack with us just in case.
It went good, they came to us one day talking about wanting to buy one of our old cars and we got 500 for it..it went well.

@MommyOfEli2013 I love our old new cars lol...it's always fun, besides the price to get it back on the road.
I don't know how they work in your area, but all I did was hand the title over and they took it off my property and that was it.

@hillhjill That is true lol, and it in better condition. That's good to have a jump thing for the battery. I am glad for the battery charger though because you don't need a working car for that!
That's good to hear, just wondered if it was an easy process because I don't know what really to do!

Hope you're feeling better. We've gotten rid of cars before; but it was back in the days when they come and tow it and then say that they can't afford to give you anything for it. Now you can get $300 or so for that. We have a car that we will be getting rid of soon. Someone wants it, maybe for parts; but I need to get a Power of Attorney notarized so that hubby can go get a new title. We are both on the title and he can't get a new title unless I am there. @LindaOHio I don't know....my husband will check it out, but the one from out of town is offering $510 currently (was $495)

Still having coughing fits today, so still not much better. Got a new med that should help some but of course it is not a cough suppressant.
I didn't know how it worked in the past with those kind of companies. That stinks they would do that. Hope that getting rid of the one you need to goes smoothly. Here we were offered about $500 for one that has to come from a couple hours away. Going to check a local one.
Hope getting the new title is not too complicated. That's strange as neither of my grandparents went up with me but maybe that is because it was going to me and not just getting a new title.
