Happy Endings.

I am aware that all movies cannot have a happy ending, because life is not a fairytale. Yet after watching a movie l don't want to feel sad or let down. I want to feel happy or inspired, so give me the happy endings any day. Not those where evil triumphs over good. l remember watching a mini series called "Jessica". I watched it to the end hoping that the truth would come out - but it didn't and l was left with an unhappy feeling being aware that such events do happen in real life. Does it bother you if the story line in a movie does not go the way you think it should? Name one of those. What kind of movies are you interested in ? Pixabay image.

I prefer happy endings, we still have so many problems in real life. When I watch a movie I want to feel happy and relaxed when it ends.

I really like happy endings in movies and if they don't, I make up one in my head. I know that Rhett Butler eventually went back to Scarlett and they lived happily ever after.

That was a very impressive movie. "Gone with the wind" - is that the one?

I go for interesting stories and do not mind the sad endings. That takes me to the movie 'Champ' where I saw everyone had tears including me and my husband.

@Kandae11 The movie Champ did have a tragic end where the little boy loses his father - a wrestler.

I have watched quite a number of tear jerker movies - no problem with those. Some may bring happy tears when you watch someone going the extra mile for someone in certain situations or someone who is facing great obstacles but manages to survive.

@allknowing That is reality, people do die but how did he die? What l do not like is the triumph of evil over good.

I watch all kinds of movies Kandase..I also feel that life is not a bowl of cherries, so I do not mind some movies not being totally happy which is of course unrealistic. Movies, any kind, take me away from the problems of day to day usually. So in the end, I love all kinds in general, except I won't and cannot watch slasher movies.

My Best Friend’s Wedding with Julia Roberts was a romantic comedy where the happy ending we got wasn’t the happy ending we wanted. I remember being disappointed by that. I get enough real life disappointment, so when it comes to entertainment, I tolerate only so much of these movie endings that let you down. I know evil wins sometimes so I don’t need to see it on my screen to reinforce that knowledge.

My point exactly. I too felt a bit disappointed with the ending of that movie.

In real life it is rare to have a happy ending. Life happens.

I would like to believe there are more happy outcomes than bad, the question is - will they last?

I feel very let down when a movie or series doesn’t have a happy ending.

Usually I like to relax with a movie that has a happy ending and leaves me feeling good. i especially like all the Hallmark movies that come out at Christmas time. They're pretty much the same and sappy but they keep me in the holiday spirit.

Ya some movies have happy endings. I can resonate with what you are saying but movies do need to show some reality that happens in life
