The pursuit 'f the hunt

fer years i've been tryin' to capture a decent pic 'f a hummin'bird displayin' their beautiful gorget. Thousands 'pon thousands 'f pics snapped o'er the decades, 'lways get out'ta my reach though i'd witnessed such many times. That flash 'f brilliance makin' these tiny birds that much more fascinatin'. The term "gorget" seems to've been coined centuries 'go. That magnificent metallic shimmer 'kin to the swatch protectin' the throat of a knight-in-armor. Most suitin' fer this particular hummer coz he'd be a Rufous. Fierce lil devils who'll fight anythin' fer territory. The hubs used to get a tad cranky with 'em. Jest one sounds like a swarm 'f bumblebees 's 't zooms past yer head. Dive-bombin' 'tis a fav 'f theirs 's well. Fortunately I'm outdoors 'nough they tend to pay me no mind. 'Strangers' though're fair game. I've seen 'em go 'fter Mockin'birds to pick a fight. Do y'all get lost'n time watchin' the wildlife'n yer neck 'f the woods?

@crazyhorseladycx Between cats and dogs many stay back. Others wait until I am not outside. That's why I bought the trail cameras

I love hearing your observations! That's a beautiful photo you took. They are definitely difficult to catch in time.

'tis 't truly a waste? i oft think the same 'f myself, all the schtuff i could/should be tendin' whilst i'm seekin' critters to snap pics 'f, 'r jest 'njoy the moments. then i figure that's why they show, to make me take that time to jest 'be'. thanks! i think i've 3 pics that turned out ok. out'ta near 300, lol.

You captured a beautiful picture of the hummingbird. I know it wasn't easy as fast as they fly.

I used to spend ages watching the kangaroos. I have dozens of photos too. Some are quite good but a lot are pretty ordinary.
